Update: Lexie has a home!
We are very pleased to report that Lexie is now at her new home in Menifee, with several horsie friends and a lot of carrots! :) Lexie is a Quarter horse who was taken in as a trade by the owner of a stable in Orange County; when she came up lame, he was going to send her to the auction. She has an enlarged knee and a clubbed right foot, so her most likely end would have been slaughter. "Jumara" is a very well bred 22-year-old imported Dutch Warmblood, used as a broodmare and dressage horse. She is sound, barefoot, and a relatively easy keeper as long as she's not in a pasture environment. (She is the lowest in the pecking order and loses weight from not standing up for herself.) Orange County, CA: QH mare needs home ASAP!
This little Quarter horse mare is from the same stable that we rescued the Arabian mares from a few weeks ago. She is about 14 years old. The owner of the stables took this mare in on a trade, and she has been used in a lesson program for the past several months. She has a swollen knee, and is going to be sent to auction if we cannot find a place for her.
