Congratulations Interns!
This past week marked the end of our interns 6-week time at Hanaeleh. They worked on grooming, leading, longeing, saddling, etc. as well as learning about conformation, medical info, etc. We ended the internship with a small sensory clinic, with the horses and interns working with various different obstacles. Happy Birthday Cricket! (and Quixote!)
Last year today, we picked up Cricket and Quixote from a nearby stable who was going to send the horses to auction to pay for the unpaid board fees. They were both emaciated, had little muscle tone, and were so bonded that it was dangerous to pull either one out of the stall because they would both freak out. Trabuco Canyon: 4th of July Parade!
Once again we are gearing up for the annual Trabuco Canyon 4th of July parade! The parade goes up Live Oak Canyon Rd. (just up our street!) and is a lot of fun! This year the theme is "Celebrating the Year of the Horse Canyon Style." I'm up for any cool ideas, but usually we just dress quite patriotically in our red, white and blue.
