Update: Quixote (August, 2020)
Quixote is an Andalusian/Thoroughbred cross who came to Hanaeleh in July, 2013. He was a complete mess when we first got him- he was so completely attached to the other horse we brought with him that he was dangerous- we couldn't even get the horse a few feet from him without him freaking out! Update: Ruby (August, 2020)
Ruby is a beautiful Thoroughbred who came to Hanaeleh a few years ago because her owner no longer had the money to feed her. She was losing her ranch and other rescues had taken all of her other horses, but none of them would take Ruby. Ruby's future was uncertain so Hanaeleh offered to take her and rehabilitate her. Update: Sapphire (August, 2020)
Sapphire is a 30+ year young Thoroughbred that Hanaeleh rescued over a decade ago. Her previous owner had hit her with a car while driving through the pasture (he said he thought she would move), and it took us over a year to rehabilitate her from that injury. She had chiropractors and massage therapists working on her every week as she had a rib out of place and a lot of muscle damage.
