Savannah Update!

May 31, 2013 By ezarkos

Mike and Savannah

This weekend we went out to see how Savannah is doing- exceptionally well as it turns out! Mike has been meticulous in his care of Savannah, and we don't know when she has looked this good! She seemed happy and content in her new home, and Mike said that he was having the "time of his life" caring for Savannah.  What a wonderful pair! :) … [Read more...]

Sheepie Update

May 30, 2013 By ezarkos

Magellen

Not much to report on the sheep this week, except for the fact that Magellan has not only developed a taste for the chicken feed, meaning we now have to lock him OUT of the chicken coop, he also got continues to try to eat the horse's grain (which is bad for sheep), resulting in our placing the buckets seemingly too high out of reach. Magellan decided that this was not to be a deterrent, and balanced his head into the bucket, resulting in him teetering precariously on his hind legs with the … [Read more...]

Rescued! Jesse and three other mares!

May 29, 2013 By ezarkos

Jesse

About two weeks ago, Hanaeleh was contacted by a young lady who had rescued a horse that had gone lame.  While meaning well, she did not have experience with rehabilitating horses, and was talked into potentially taking her horse to a "euthanasia clinic."  She reached out to us before having her put down in the hopes that we would hopefully be able to help. Unfortunately, we were not able to get out to see the horse in time, so we put a plea on Facebook and through our rescue contacts in order … [Read more...]

San Juan Capistrano, CA: 14 y/o Arabian Mare Needs Home

May 29, 2013 By ezarkos

Dallas is a 14 year-old Arabian mare who needs a home ASAP! She has been ridden on trail and western.  Her owner says that she has good ground manners. Dallas has all four shoes (last shod: May 13th). She is NOT up-to-date on her vaccinations and has not had her teeth done in several years.   She needs some weight (she is currently only on alfalfa hay- she would probably do well with a grain supplement). Dallas' owner purchased her to keep his other horse company and now that his other … [Read more...]
