Titan was adopted out last year to a wonderful family down in San Diego. We checked in to see how he was doing, and were pleased to hear that he is doing well, and his owner is still in love with him! She writes: "He is doing awesome. We were able to bring him home which I love. He has turned into such a fun trail horse... I can't thank you enough, I love him with all my heart! "Of all the horses I have ever owned, he is my favorite. His personality is alot like mine, lol. I love his … [Read more...]
Update: Titan Loves His New Home! (and His New Owners Love Him!)
We are so happy to report that Titan's owner has told me that Titan is doing so wonderfully in his new home! He has settled in easily into his new home, and is doing so well! His new owners are so in love with him, and he is in a huge paddock where he can wander about all day. They also take him out on trail, and even down to the beach! When his new mom Christy took him out there that day, she said, "We made it to the beach today. Crossed a 100 ft. wooden bridge over water. And he did great. He … [Read more...]
UPDATE: Titan’s New Home!
We are so pleased to announce that Titan has been adopted! We had several inquiries on our big boy, but we found a wonderful home with a woman and her family down in San Diego. She has had horses in the past, but wanted a schoolmaster who knew his job and would be good for short rides on trail and in the arena. We told them about his previous injuries, and they were not an issue for what they wanted to do with him. The entire family came out to see Titan, and they immediately fell in love! He … [Read more...]
UPDATE: Titan
Titan has been feeling very good these past few weeks! He has been enjoying the cooler weather and acting very silly in the round pen, but today he seemed pretty mellow, so Emily got on him bareback and rode him around for a while. He is so easy to ride- especially bareback! We are still looking for a good home for him- because of his previous injury, we are looking for a home that only wants him to walk or trot, as cantering can put undue pressure on his suspensories. We have had several … [Read more...]
Update: Titan (November 2017)
Last August we were contacted by our veterinarian, who asked us to take Titan. Titan had torn suspensories on both hind legs. He had a long rehab ahead of him, but after his rehab, he would be sound and rideable. We did take Titan, and were faced with at least six months and potentially a year of needing to be hand walked for 15-20 minutes everyday. It did take about a year before we were able to ride Titan, and another few months beyond that before we were able to trot him under saddle. … [Read more...]
Up for Adoption: Titan
We are pleased to announce that Titan is now up for adoption! Titan is a 15 year-old Hanoverian/Irish Sport Horse Warmblood. He came to Hanaeleh because both of his hind suspensories had been torn and his owner did not want to rehab him. It's been almost a year, but he is now cleared for trotting and turn-out, and we have been riding him without issues. Titan is a BIG boy- he's 17 hands and WIDE. Titan can be ridden in walk/trot shows or out on leisurely trail rides (he's happier when he goes … [Read more...]
