Our Christmas horses, Cindy Lou and Noelle, are continuing to improve! Cindy Lou is doing great and she was ridden again today for about 20 minutes around the neighborhood, and did so well that she will be up for adoption in a few weeks! We have discovered that Cindy Lou has had some abuse in the past and has a LOT of scar tissue in her mouth from abusive bits, but she does AWESOME in a bitless bridle. UPDATE: Cindy Lou and Noelle
We thought that people would like an update of our Christmas rescues, Cindy Lou and Noelle! They are both up in a foster home at Sylmar, and are gaining weight and doing well. Noelle is the chestnut mare we rescued when the man who purchased her at auction no longer wanted her. She faced an uncertain future, and possibly would have been shipped to slaughter if Auction Horses Rescue had not intervened and asked us if we could take her. This past Monday Elizabeth travelled up to Sylmar to see both Cindy Lou and Noelle, our latest rescues, at their foster home. Introducing Noelle: Rescued Christmas Horse!
Noelle She was tired and cold and everything hurt. The man came into the paddock and tried to grab her, but she ran away; everytime a man grabbed her he hurt her. The man just yelled at her and threw her and the other horse in the paddock a thin flake of old alfalfa. She didn't care how thin it was; she was so hungry she would eat anything.
