We are helping a family rehome their 27 year-old bay Thoroughbred mare. Little Smokester was born on February 20, 1998 and was registered with the Thoroughbred registry. She had 17 starts, 3 first-place finishes, and career earnings of $20,956. She lives in Riverside, CA. Hanaeleh at the Celtic Fest!
This weekend Hanaeleh had a booth out at the California Celtic Fest in Placentia! Even though it was hot out, they were able to find us a very lovely shady spot, and we had a number of people come up to talk with us about the rescue and our horses! Hanaeleh Gets a New Tractor and Ulysses Gets a Stall Upgrade
Running a horse rescue takes a lot of work, and for the past 14 years we’ve managed mostly with good old-fashioned manpower — and occasionally a rented tractor when we really needed it. 2 Kittens Still Looking for a Forever Home
A few weeks ago, we got an urgent message about three little kittens, only about 10 weeks old. Because they were unsocialized and a bit spicy, no one was interested in adopting them, and they were at risk of being euthanized. We hoped another rescue could step in, but at the last minute, when it looked like no one else could help, we took them in ourselves.
