Hanaeleh works with multiple animal shelters in the area, and we have rescued several cats and even Darwin the tortoise from the Irvine Animal Shelter! A few weeks ago we were sent an urgent message about three little kittens who were only about 10 weeks old, but because they were unsocialized and a bit spicy, they had no public interest and were in danger of being euthanized. Sylmar, CA: 9 y/o Pony “Charlotte” Needs Home
Hanaeleh was asked to help network Charlotte, a lovely 13-hand, 9 year-old chestnut pony. Charlotte is located in Sylmar, California, but was adopted out from a rescue in Arizona. The new adopter will be required to pay an adoption fee and sign an agreement with a first right-of-refusal with the adoption agency. Hanaeleh is Named California Non-Profit of the Year!
We are very pleased to announce that Hanaeleh is the California Non-Profit of the Year in our district! We were nominated by our Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez and incredibly surprised but very much honored to be chosen for this very illustrious recognition! The honorees for the entire state were recognized in an awards ceremony on May 21st. UPDATE: SAFE! Meet Lola – A Loving Thoroughbred Mare Looking for a New Home (Fallbrook CA)
Update 8/8/25: We received word that Lola was taken in by another rescue, so she is safe! Thank you to everyone who was able to network her! Lola is a 14-year-old bay Thoroughbred mare currently located in Fallbrook, CA. Her current owner reached out to us for help in finding Lola a new home. She adopted Lola in 2017, provided her with basic training through a professional trainer, and was able to ride her a few times.
