Chief-Charlie B. Stuntman

February 7, 2011 By Hanaeleh

Born May 28, 1993 Rescued January 28, 2007 Adopted July 11, 2007 Passed January 23, 2008 Chief was a triple-registered, absolutely gorgeous Tennessee Walker who had lost one eye due to a tumor.  Chief was adopted and greatly loved by Lori B., who worked with Chief for hours, getting him over his fear of pretty much everything.  The fact that he had an eye missing did not help, but Lori did not care, she loved him so much. Chief colicced during the October, 2007 fires and, while he … [Read more...]

Starlight-Raffella

February 7, 2011 By Hanaeleh

Passed April 29, 2007 Starlight was Napoleon’s pasture mate.  When we came out to see her, we were unhappily greeted with what looked like a severe case of founder. Starlight had been seen regularly by a vet who had merely prescribed a few tablets of bute for what must have been severe pain. Starlight had worn all of the skin away on her hips where she lay down, and while we were there, developed an arterial bleed.  With the owner’s blessing, we made the arrangements to allow Starlight to go … [Read more...]

Prophet

February 7, 2011 By Hanaeleh

Rescued May, 2006 Passed July 21, 2006 Prophet was a beautiful Friesian who had a very mischievous personality and was more horse than his owner wanted.  He sand colicced twice and was sent to the hospital both times, and eventually he was given to Elizabeth.  She only had him for 10 weeks when his colon burst– although a vet was on the premises, he died within minutes.  We wish we could have known him longer, but he was definitely loved for the short time we knew him. … [Read more...]

Heart of Battle

February 7, 2011 By Hanaeleh

Born May 20, 1984 Rescued July 1, 2007 Adopted July 7, 2007 Passed March 13, 2009 Heart of Battle was one of four horses that Hanaeleh took in when they were told of a woman who had passed away suddenly when her tractor flipped backwards onto her.  When Hanaeleh first saw Heart, she had an abscess that hadn’t been cared for, and was very depressed. She found a wonderful home with Myrna V. through the Exceller Fund, and had a wonderful two years of being spoiled and pampered as any … [Read more...]
