We had the vet out to see Savannah today. The general prognosis is that there may be some navicular changes, but that she should be sound as a walk/trot horse for arena work or for mild trail riding (mostly flat). Good news for a horse who couldn't walk without stumbling when she came in! New Rescues
Meet Maggie and Ulysses. Both are from the Riverside shelter. They were both abandoned in the riverbed by their owners, respectively. Maggie needs a lot of weight and some dental and farrier care. Ulysses is covered with scars across his back and face, presumably from his previous owner. Ulysses had some issues when we picked him up- first, he didn't want to leave his stall (probably so happy he was getting fed everyday!).
