He was very fat when we got him– so fat he had to have shoes on and was laid up for 6 weeks because the vet was afraid he would founder! Rescued December 7, 2008 Retired March 9, 2011 Ella is a very sweet Thoroughbred who was rescued by Bethany’s Gait when she was abandoned at a stable. They worked diligently with her, spending thousands of dollars on her vet care, until it became apparent that she was not able to work in their program. Hanaeleh took Ella and she was doing well until she pulled her stifle, and could no longer be exercised. Rescued: May 19, 2010 Retired on March 9, 2011 Raphael was a Thoroughbred who was probably raced when he was younger. While we don’t know much about his younger years, we do know that he was eventually trained as a trail horse. When we took him in, he was owned by a police officer who had been injured, and so Raphael was left for months. Gypsy 6-year-old Mustang mare Captured April 24, 2007 Rescued May 9, 2008 Gypsy is a 6 year old Mustang. She is about 14.2 hands, and is very sweet and willing, but needs an experienced individual to work with her. Gypsy has good feet and is very sure-footed.
