Once again we are gearing up for the annual Trabuco Canyon 4th of July parade! The parade goes up Live Oak Canyon Rd. (just up our street!) and is a lot of fun! This year the theme is "Celebrating the Year of the Horse Canyon Style." I'm up for any cool ideas, but usually we just dress quite patriotically in our red, white and blue. UPDATE: Trabuco Canyon: Brutus (3 y/o TB)
Many people have asked about Brutus, and how he is faring. He is actually doing very well! His surgery went well, and although he had some discharge for the first few days, and some swelling in the area, he is feeling well and things are looking healthy and normal. Brutus is also losing his fuzzy winter coat and is getting in his sleek summer coat! He has almost no muscle-tone, and he is still underweight, but I do believe the boy has grown in just a few weeks! UPDATE: Trabuco Canyon, CA- Pepper (Missouri Foxtrotter)
Great news! We heard from Pepper's owner that someone is going to help take on the costs of Pepper! The best news is that Pepper will stay at the stable where he has lived for the past several years, and his stablemate Mocha will be able to keep him as his friend for now. :) We are so very happy that the network has helped take the financial burden off of Pepper's owner, while also helping to pair up Pepper with a new potential owner. UPDATE: Brutus, Our Latest Rescue
Many of you have asked for a Brutus update - we have some wonderful news! On Saturday, Brutus got his feet done by our farrier. He was good (for not having had his feet done in a long time, anyway). They will need a few more trims before they are back to normal, but at least things are now headed in the right direction. On Monday, our vet came out to assess Brutus for a geld. EXCELLENT NEWS!
