We have had Onyx for about two weeks now. We thought we would give a little update so everyone can keep tabs on our newest princess! Update: Brutus and His Ball
We posted last week that Brutus went to his new home, and we are pleased to say that he is doing so well! He is getting worked regularly, and seems to have settled in quite nicely into his new routine. His new mom Kelley thought he needed a little playtime, so she gave him a yoga ball to play with (he had a ball out at Hanaeleh a few years ago, but he broke it!). Introducing: Onyx! 22 y/o Thoroughbred Mare
We received a call last week from one of our supporters about a Thoroughbred she had tried to get the owner to surrender to us several years ago. Unfortunately, he refused at that time, but this past week he contacted her and told her that he was moving and needed a place for his horse. We made contact, and he told me over the phone that she was a little thin, but that he was riding her consistently. I was hopeful that she just needed a diet more conducive to an older horse. Introducing Devon at Hanaeleh!
Last Friday we picked up Devon, a very cute 18 year-old Canadian Thoroughbred. Devon had hurt his suspensories earlier in the year, and was on stall rest, then ended up contracting EHV at his stable. He was very sick, but his owners were able to take him to the hospital, and after several weeks he looked like he was going to make it.
