Update: Lexie has a home!
We are very pleased to report that Lexie is now at her new home in Menifee, with several horsie friends and a lot of carrots! :) Lexie is a Quarter horse who was taken in as a trade by the owner of a stable in Orange County; when she came up lame, he was going to send her to the auction. She has an enlarged knee and a clubbed right foot, so her most likely end would have been slaughter. I received a call Wednesday night from someone who has been taking care of two Arabian mares for the past several months (mucking out the stall, getting their feet done, brushing them, etc. She has not been paying board and has NO contact with the owner).
