Lexie Update
First of all, thank you to all of those people who have donated to Lexie's cause! It is so very much appreciated! Lexie is continuing to do well. Today Emily and I spent about a half an hour bathing her hind legs and under her tail. We would have given her a full bath, but the weather was not cooperating, so that will have to wait. UPDATE: Lexie is at Hanaeleh
Some of you may remember Lexie, a little Quarter horse we helped to rescue last year. Lexie was from a local stable, and was going to be sent to auction because she had a bad knee and her owner did not want to care for her any longer. We found a home for Lexie first with a woman who ran a lesson program, but after a few weeks she said that Lexie would not work in her program. Congratulations Interns!
This past week marked the end of our interns 6-week time at Hanaeleh. They worked on grooming, leading, longeing, saddling, etc. as well as learning about conformation, medical info, etc. We ended the internship with a small sensory clinic, with the horses and interns working with various different obstacles.
