Last week we had Maggie tested for Cushings- with her coat growing in the way it has and her general attitude, we wanted to do the blood test to check to see if she was Cushinoid.
The results came back and she is, indeed, Cushinoid. We will start her on medication this week and have already changed her diet. She is going to live with Delilah in the bottom paddock as we want to ensure that Sapphire does not lose weight as a result of the new diet. Sapphire will move up next to Gypsy and Delilah will move down with Maggie, so it may take a few days for things to get settled back down with the paddock changes.
Maggie’s medication will cost approximately $75 /month, so if there is anyone out there who would like to help sponsor her medication, it would be helpful!
