For Adoption: Star (2 year old Filly)

April 3, 2024 By ezarkos

Please help Star find her forever home!

We rescued Starlight (Star) from slaughter last year, and sent her to a trainer’s to learn basic groundwork. She has done AMAZING and is the sweetest thing ever!

Star is about two years old, and we don’t really know exactly what her breed is- it looks like there is some Quarter horse in there somewhere, but it’s really anyone’s guess. She is a chestnut and has a lovely little star on her face!

Star is very sweet and really seems to love people! She comes right up and is able to be haltered and led without an issue. She picks up her feet for the farrier, trailers, and ties at the rail. We haven’t worked with her with clippers, but that’s something we will introduce. She has had some sensory training, and a saddle on her back, but she’s still very young and definitely is not strong enough yet for any sort of riding. She will need some time growing and developing before she will be able to take a rider.

Our plan right now for Star is to do some ground driving with her and continue her training as she grows. If you or someone you know is looking for a project horse (who is very sweet) and has the experience to train a horse of their own, please fill out our horse inquiry form and we will contact you. We do retain first right-of-refusal on all of our horses, however, so no flippers, please- we are looking for a forever home for Star.

We will continue to work with Star and show her lots of love until we find the perfect home for her!

Glenda Gets a Brand-New Coop (Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers!)

August 28, 2025 By ezarkos

Glenda is one of the chickens at our ranch, and she had previously been living in a coop we built when we moved onto the property. The coop was sturdy enough to keep larger predators out, but unfortunately mice and rats were able to find their way inside. We did what we could to try to strengthen … [Read More...]
