We recently rescued Pearl, a 24 year-old Connemara pony. Her owner suffered from dementia and Pearl was in grave danger of being euthanized.
To make matters worse, Pearl was living with EOTRH, a painful dental disease that made eating difficult and every day uncomfortable. Our veterinarian determined that removing her teeth was the best way to give her relief. Thanks to your support, Pearl underwent surgery and has made a full recovery.
Pearl is a registered cream Connemara pony, imported from Ireland. She is now looking for her forever home. She is super adorable and is a childhood dream come true! She is sound and while we were told she was ridden in the past, we have not gotten on her to determine if this is the case. She should NOT have a bit in her mouth due to her lack of teeth, but would make a lovely companion pony or a lead-line pony for a child. She is currently with one of our geldings and gets along very well with him.
Pearl is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations and her farrier care. She eats timothy pellets that are watered down. She stands well at the tie rail and trailers. The only big issue she has is that she does not care for fly spray, but we are working on getting her used to it.
