We had a wonderful group of people out this last Saturday for our workday! We got a ton accomplished, including about 30 yards of mulch spread to help reduce erosion and dust. The volunteers also cleaned all of the horses' feed dishes, cleared out the garden, cleaned out the hay shed, took down a stall, and even planted a tree! They were a very busy group of people! Hanaeleh Workday/Open House 2/4/17
Many thanks to all of those people who came out for our workday and open house this Saturday! We had volunteers from several organizations, including the Lions Club and Girl Scouts come out to help. The Amish saying, "Many hands make light work," is one of our mottos; by all of us working together, we are able to accomplish what we would never be able to accomplish by ourselves. Chickens
Hanaeleh has three resident chickens on the property- Samantha (4 years), Ursula (1 year) and Endora (1 year). All three are named after the characters in the television sitcom Bewitched. All three hens are leghorns and do lay eggs. They are very helpful around the ranch, however, as they eat icky bugs that would otherwise get into the grain.
