It's been an exciting few weeks at Hanaeleh, as we have one of our horses return, and a new herdmate to welcome at the rescue! Jesse Jesse is a 20 year-old Quarter horse gelding. Jesse is what we call a boomerang horse- he keeps coming back! He has come back now three times- and never though any fault of his own. Jesse is a very sweet little Quarter horse we had adopted out several years ago. Unfortunately, due to a divorce, his owners had to give him back to Hanaeleh this year, but as all things seem to happen for a reason, a wonderful woman who had previously volunteered with Hanaeleh called us and told us she was looking for a horse! Update: Jesse is Loving His New Home!
Jesse's new mom contacted us the other day and said that Jesse was doing wonderfully in his new home! She said, "I'm totally in love!" She also was able to take his cribbing collar off 100% of the time after the second week because he is in a crib-free stall during the evening, and is out in pasture all day. They get to go out on leisurely trail rides several times during the week, but for the most part he hangs out with his new horsie friends and hanging out in the pasture. Rescued July 11, 2007 Adopted April 26, 2008 Jesse was a Quarter Horse who was purchased at Mike’s Auction by his owner at three years old. The owner was very aggressive with Jesse, and was so abusive that Jesse developed ulcers. Instead of treating these ulcers, the owner left him in his stall, and Jesse would colic regularly.
