Trabuco Canyon, CA: Delilah- 9 y/o Thoroughbred mare needs home

January 20, 2014 By ezarkos

Delilah

We rescued Delilah when her owner abandoned her at a neighboring facility. She had a nail stuck in her foot from a shoe that had twisted, and had been left in a stall for months. It took several months for us to put weight back on her, and then also to get Delilah pain-free.  She is now able to be ridden, and is a very sweet girl. Delilah is currently being ridden (walk, trot, canter) in the arena, and we have taken her out for a few short trips on trail and the street. She has done great in … [Read more...]

Sapphire and Emily

We had a busy time out at the ranch this weekend- the horses all received their strangles vaccinations (we try not to give all of the vaccinations at once) so they are set until next year!  The horses kept sneezing and trying to wipe their noses on us so the vet, Sally W. and Elizabeth all received the strangles innoculation by proxy. Saturday was great- the horses all got out and were exercised.  They are looking quite dashing with their summer coats! … [Read more...]

Delilah

April 5, 2013 By ezarkos

Delilah is an 8 year-old Thoroughbred mare who is looking for a home! She was abandoned at a neighbor's stable after suffering with a nail embedded in her hoof for a period of time. She was emaciated and in pain when we took her in; she has gained about 400 pounds and looks great! We have had a few volunteers who have spent many hours working with her on sensory items, and we have been working with her under saddle. She is very gentle and sweet and we are looking for someone who is experienced … [Read more...]
