This past year one of our board members adopted not one- but two(!!)- horses from Hanaeleh. The first horse she adopted is named Chance- he is a warmblood we had networked who could be lightly ridden, but could no longer be jumped. The other is our lovely Brutus, who had a very difficult life before he came to Hanaeleh at three. He was malnourished and had not been socialized or trained at all. Update: Brutus and His Ball
We posted last week that Brutus went to his new home, and we are pleased to say that he is doing so well! He is getting worked regularly, and seems to have settled in quite nicely into his new routine. His new mom Kelley thought he needed a little playtime, so she gave him a yoga ball to play with (he had a ball out at Hanaeleh a few years ago, but he broke it!). UPDATE: Brutus’ New Home!
We are very pleased to announce that Brutus has found his new home! His new mom, Kelley, is a long-time friend of Hanaeleh. We met Kelley when she was running a private school and her students were coming out to work with horses at Bethany's Gait, when we were sharing the same facility. UPDATE: Brutus
We rescued Brutus a little over a year ago (you can read more about Brutus' time at Hanaeleh here). He has been progressing well, albeit slowly, partly due to his immaturity and partly due to the fact that was very malnourished. When we first took him in, we were concerned that his growth would be stunted due to his being obviously underfed for a very long time.
