In a 4-9 vote, the Congressional Rules Committee killed an amendment brought by Congresswoman Dina Titus to stop the killing of wild horses and burros. Nine Congresspeople blocked a discussion and vote...and instead set forth their approval of the slaughter of America's healthy wild horses and burros in the House FY18 Appropriations Bill. In Southeast Nevada’s high desert Silver King Herd Management Area, wild horses coexist with elk, deer, antelope and sage grouse. They are vastly outnumbered by cattle and sheep.  Although federally protected, they are in peril.
