Ollie is a 14 year old Irish Sport Horse who needed a place to live. He is a retired Grand Prix jumper (which meant he was jumping 6 foot jumps!) who had developed navicular and suspensory issues in his front legs, which prevented him from being ridden. We are sad to report the death of Clara, one of the chickens at Hanaeleh. October has been a difficult month here at Hanaeleh, and while the death of Clara may not seem to be that important to some people, she was a part of our family here at the ranch for a number of years. Garnet has been out of the hospital for a little over a week, and we had Dr. Fertig come out to determine what our next steps should be. She said that Garnet's wounds look great, and to continue to clean them up as we have been doing. She said that Garnet can have treats now, too, so that has made Garnet a MUCH happier horse!
