We had a small but very mighty group who came out for our work day this weekend! Even though the temperatures were in the high 90s, we were able to paint the entire hay shed, and it looks amazing! We were able to take off all of the signs so we could paint the entire shed, and we had to cut away some of the tree that was starting to grow over the shed. Sable’s New Shoes
When rescued Sable a few months ago, she was physically in very poor shape. Her coat was matted and fine, and she had urine scalding across her belly from lying in manure. She had been on some medication to treat her Cushings, but the dosage was incorrect so it wasn't helping much. Trabuco Canyon, CA: 22 y/o Quarter Horse Mare (Tilly) for Adoption
A few months ago, we rescued Tilly and Sable from a neglect situation. Their owners very much needed help, and we were thankful that we were able to take both horses. We are very pleased to announce that Tilly is healthy and happy now, and is up for adoption! Tilly is a 22 y/o registered Quarter horse mare. Action Needed: Help End the Pony Rides at Griffith Park (Los Angeles)
Hanaeleh was recently made aware of abusive practices that have been taking place at the pony rides at Griffith Park. There are videos of older, arthritic ponies who are clearly in pain being made to carry children around a track. Dangerous for Kids and Ponies None of the children have helmets, and they are strapped into the saddle, which is incredibly dangerous, and can lead to children getting dragged.
