More Babies at the Feedlot
We have received a message that there are three more babies at the feedlot. They are all unhandled babies from the Navajo Reservation. We don't know what will happen to them- whether they will be sold somewhere else, sent to slaughter, or sent to another auction. Their fate is uncertain. Aftermath of the Kentucky Derby and the Fate of Thoroughbred Racehorses
The Kentucky Derby came and went this weekend, with the deaths of seven horses and the indefinite suspension of one trainer (Saffie Joseph, Jr.) at Churchill Downs in one week. Southern California: 22 y/o Thoroughbred Gelding Needs Home!
Southern California: We were contacted by a woman who has a 22 y/o Thoroughbred gelding who she can't afford to keep anymore. He was a show jumper, and came up with a slight lameness about a year and a half ago, so they put him out in a pasture to heal. He is moving out sound now, but hasn't been ridden at all during the last 18 months. The owner isn't looking to sell him, but is looking for a good home for him.
