Rylee is an 18 year-old Peruvian Paso mare we rescued at the beginning of this year. Her previous owner had been in a bad car accident and Rylee needed a soft place to land ASAP. Rylee began settling in quickly. She wasn't underweight like many of our rescues, but she always seemed hungry, so we put her on a diet that included a lot of forage so she could eat more. Bella: From Kill Pen to Loving Home

Rescuing Bella Earlier this year Hanaeleh facilitated the rescue of two horses out of a kill pen in Texas. This was one of many feedlots where the kill buyers send the horses right before they are sent across the border to Mexico for slaughter. There are kill pens across the northern US border as well. Thank you to Western Welding!
Last week LadyBug and Gypsy decided to get into a tiff, and the resulting casualty was a support pole for their shelters. The pole sheared off completely at the welded area, which unfortunately is typical for some of the pipes we bought during Covid.
