She is currently being ridden English (you DO need to post with her trot!) and … [Read more...]

Happy Hanaeleh Anniversary May 29, 1999

May 29, 2012 By Hanaeleh

13 years ago today, I purchased a bay Arabian, sight unseen, from a feedlot in Chino. It was a Wednesday when I said I would take her, on the 27th, although she was not released until Friday, the 29th. Cleo came home to me. The rest of the horses at the feedlot went to slaughter that day. That horse was Cleopatra, who was my dearest friend and companion.  Without her, there would be no Hanaeleh, and who knows what might have happened to the horses we have helped. Although Cleo is no … [Read more...]

Four hours later, with some twine, a few lead ropes and a lot of luck, and we had a little Mustang mare in the back of our trailer, heading for home. And the rest, as they say, is … [Read more...]
