In 2016 the BLM grazing fee for a cow/calf was $2.11. Last month, the BLM lowered its grazing fee from $1.87 to $1.41. This further 25% reduction is a proverbial slap in the face to both American taxpayers as well as to wild horse advocates. Why is the rate going down, instead of up? UPDATE: SAFE! Missouri Foxtrotter Gelding Needs Home ASAP
March 1, 2018 UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Cody has found a home! He will go to the same wonderful family who adopted Montana from us a few years ago. We received an update from his owner, saying he did very well on the trailer ride, and settled in very easily into his new home. His new owner said he is very sweet and curious! Update: Jesse Has a Home!
We are so very pleased to announce that Jesse has a new home! Jesse is a little Quarter horse who was rescued by Hanaeleh about 10 years ago. His original owner was abusive in his training methods, causing Jesse to colic due to stress. We rescued Jesse and adopted him out to a very loving family, who spent a lot of time and money in training Jesse in both English and western disciplines. Rescued from Neglect: Two Arabian Mares
Quite a bit of rescue work happens behind the scenes; answering phone calls, getting information about horses and determining how we can best help in a particular situation. The story of these two horses actually started two months ago, when we received a phone call from a concerned individual, letting us know that there were two Arabian mares who were being neglected and were starving.
