Wickenburg, AZ: 2 Thoroughbreds Need Homes ASAP

September 22, 2022 By ezarkos

We were contacted by a woman who is looking for homes for two Thoroughbred geldings whose owner has passed away. The woman has cared for them for the past several months, but she is unable to continue to support them financially. The horses do not necessarily have to go together, although ideally it would be nice if they could find a home where they could stay together as they have lived together for a long time.

Both horses are good with other horses. they are currently on Bermuda and alfalfa hay and pellets. They need some veterinary care, including their vaccines and teeth floated, but their Coggins is OK. They are current on their farrier care.

These horses are NOT at Hanaeleh- they are located in Wickenburg, AZ. For more information, please contact the current owner: (480) 599-9659. Please share!

Duncan

Duncan is 23 years old, and is 17 hands. He is a dark bay in color. He was raced and was a champion fox hunter in his youth. He is still rideable, but he should not be jumped as he has a history of laminitis. He needs front shoes when being ridden, and needs an advanced rider.

Pirate

Pirate is 17 years old and is 17 hands. He is bay in color. He was never raced and was a previous jumper, but had some leg injuries in the past and should no longer be used for jumping, although he can be rideable on the flat. He is OK for a beginner rider and is barefoot. He is more comfortable when he is on Equioxx when being ridden or worked.

These horses are NOT at Hanaeleh- they are located in Wickenburg, AZ. They need a home as their current owner is unable to financially care for them. For more information, please contact the current owner: (480) 599-9659. Please share!
