It is with a heavy heart that Hanaeleh has to report that Zorro passed away on Easter morning.
Zorro’s rescue was a coordination of Hanaeleh, Blue Apple Ranch and Red Bucket Equine Rescue. Red Bucket was contacted when Zorro’s owner of 20 years passed away. The brother said that if they did not take him, he was going to sell Zorro to slaughter. Red Bucket picked him up and transported him to Hanaeleh, where he stayed for a short time until we transported him to Blue Apple Ranch, where he spent his final years in safety.
Lynn, the founder of Blue Apple Ranch, was with Zorro when he displayed signs of colic. After several hours it was determined that he was not going to get any better, and made the difficult decision to let Zorro pass in peace. A necropsy was performed and showed a torsion colic.
We thank Blue Apple Ranch for all of their love and care for Zorro in his final years.
