Hanaeleh was made aware of a large group of horses that were dumped at a Texas kill pen. These horses were essentially someone’s pets, and when they ran out of money, instead of calling a rescue to place them, they sent all of these horses to potential slaughter. There were so many horses, including babies, who were in danger of being shipped out to slaughter. A local group stepped in and was able to get the slaughter truck postponed (quite literally- it was on the way to pick up the horses), and was able to place all but a few of the horses.
If we can raise enough bail, we can save them. We need $3,600. Will you help? No amount is too small. Donate HERE
We don’t usually get involved in auctions directly- there are other rescues that work directly with the auctions, and quite honestly there is only so much we can do… it can be very disheartening to know that we can’t save them all. We work with these other rescues and have taken horses from auctions or the kill buyers before they are sent to slaughter; Noelle and Andromeda are both horses that we saved from the slaughter truck with the help of Auction Horses Rescue.
That being said, we knew that one of our supporters wanted to help rescue two horses, and so when we were told about this large group of horses who came into this kill pen, we knew that we could help.
There are only six horses left of the larger group, and we are now trying to help place two of these horses who have had no other interest, and currently have no other option. They have a home to go to, but we now we must raise the money to transport them to their new home. If we can raise enough bail, we can save them. Will you help? No amount is too small. Donate HERE
We just finished our fundraiser, and we are so very thankful for everyone who has helped to keep Hanaeleh’s horses safe. If you are still looking for a tax-deductible donation for the end of the year, however, we ask if you can please help get these two horses to safety and get out of the kill pen.
Please just make a note that the donation is for the horses at auction and we will make sure to earmark those funds directly for these two horses. Here’s the link to donate: HERE
