We are so pleased that we have raised almost 3/4 of the total needed to rescue the two horses at auction in just two days! We have been able to pay for the bail for these two horses, and have contacted the hauler to get these two to their new home in Arizona. We have also arranged for a health certificate and Coggins, which the feedlot will help with. The horses no longer go by their lot number, but have been named Whiskey and Bella, and will go to their new home next week!
Thank you to all of those people who helped to make this rescue possible! If you would like to help, we still need to raise money for transportation to safety!
There are still horses at the feedlot who need homes, including several youngsters. We don’t like giving money to the people who also send horses to slaughter, but the reality is that if these horses aren’t sold to individuals, they WILL ship to slaughter- the only way to stop this cycle is to obviously create a law banning the sale and transportation of horses for the purpose of slaughter. Until that law passes, however, the best we can do is to try to help those who are in need of help. You can click here for more information on the horses still at the feedlot.
