UPDATE 2022: Gypsy

January 18, 2022 By ezarkos

Gypsy is a permanent resident of Hanaeleh. She continues to be the queen of the ranch, even though she lives in the lower paddock. She is a wild Mustang, and Mustangs often only will bond with one person, and that person happens to be Elizabeth. Gypsy loves Elizabeth, and really dislikes everyone else (unless you are offering her treats- in that case, you may give her the treat, and then you may leave).

Elizabeth often will pony Gypsy off of Tamahome when she goes riding around the neighborhood or out on trail- Gypsy helps keep Tamahome from getting nervous, and it’s an easy way to exercise Gypsy. Sometimes she will randomly stop on the trail while she’s being ponied, which has almost pulled Elizabeth off of Tamahome’s back a few times, but thankfully Tamahome stops quickly. Sometimes Elizabeth will ride her out on trail, but she walks very slowly under saddle, so a 20-minute ride on Tama will take twice that on Gypsy!

Gypsy enjoys having the volunteers fawn over her and offer her treats to try to get her to like them (we keep telling the volunteers it won’t matter, but they keep trying). She loves baked goods, and loves eating the leftover breakfast goodies that the volunteers can’t finish- whether it be muffins, donuts or rugalah, Gypsy loves it all!
