This past Saturday when one of our volunteers, Misa, took Aurora out to groom her, she noticed that Aurora's left eye looked a little cloudy. We looked at it, and determined it would need a vet examination, just in case it was Uveitis. Uveitis is fairly common in horses, especially older horses with compromised immune systems. Update: Zebedee has a new home!
We are so happy to announce that the little pony Zebedee found a lovely new home! He will be the companion to a beautiful Andalusian who looks like a larger Zebedee! He will also have a Quarter horse, a mini, and a pig to keep him company. Two years ago, Zebedee was used as a tripping horse in manganas. Manganas are events wherein charros will rope the horse's legs and throw them to the ground. It is with deepest sadness that we report that our dear friend Sally Wooldridge passed away last week due to complications of cancer. Sally was not only a dear friend to those of us at Hanaeleh, but also served as our Vice President and as our head of community outreach. Sally was integral in helping to train our volunteers as well as educate others about horses and equine advocacy issues. New Pony at Hanaeleh
OMG we have a pony! Zebedee is a little grey 8 year-old Welsh cross pony and he is absolutely adorable. He is staying with us due to overflow from the Sylmar fires, but he is also up for adoption! Zebedee was rescued two years ago from an auction. He had been used by charros for roping/tripping practice, and when his owner took him he had scars on his legs from the ropes.
