We received a call from one of our supporters in Ojai, CA. She is a trainer and she has adopted a few horses we have networked in the past for her lesson program. 15 y/o Friesian Cross Needs Home
We are looking to find a home for a 15 year old, 14.3 hand Friesian/QH cross. He is a very stocky boy! His name was Gabriel but his current owner calls him Alfie. She adopted him from us and her plan was to train him as a driving horse, but he just is not comfortable driving alone. New Adoption and Hershey Returns to Hanaeleh
Although Hanaeleh is a relatively small rescue, and cannot take in every horse who is in need, we do our best to network horses, both internally and externally, in order to help find them new homes. When we were sent a plea from a woman who was looking for a home for Gabriel, a Friesian-Quarter horse cross, however, we knew we would easily be able to find him a home! D’Artagnan
We unfortunately must share the sad news that we had to make the difficult decision to put D'Artagnan down this morning. He was down in his stall this morning and we were unable to get him up. We called out the vet, who gave him steroids, fluids and electrolytes, but soon D'Artagnan became painful and we had no choice but to end his suffering. We thank all of those people who helped D'Artagnan over this last week, and while we had hoped he had turned a corner, we at least gave him a week … [Read more...]
