We were contacted by a man in Los Angeles, CA, who has a 14 year-old Thoroughbred mare named Savannah. Savannah is about 16 hands, and is a dark bay with NO white anywhere! She has been ridden as a polo horse in the arena for the past five to six years.
Unfortunately, Savannah has developed arthritis in her right rear stifle. The vet said that it appears there is also a bone spur that would prevent her from competition. There are injections and other medications that can allow her to compete, but her owner is getting older and would like Savannah to have a home where she is not ridden as hard. She is sound at the walk and trot but is obviously uncomfortable at a gallop.
Savannah’s owner says that she is very sweet, and she is up-to-date on all of her vaccines. She has shoes on all four feet.
Savannah is NOT at Hanaeleh- she is still with her owner in L.A. If you are interested in Savannah, please fill out our horse inquiry form and we will pass on all inquiries to the owner.
