Please help find a home for two registered American Quarter horse geldings. They must go together. The horses are buddy sour- which means that if you try to take one away, the other will get very upset, and run around. They are fine as long as they are worked within sight of each other.
Hanaeleh was contacted by a woman who is looking to find a home for two Quarter horses. These horses are NOT at Hanaeleh- they are located with the owner in Murrieta, CA. If you are interested in these horses, or for more information, please contact the owner directly: jnied1976@gmail.com
Information from the owner:
Dane is 22 years old. He is 16 hands, amazing to ride, collects, I’ve even done patterning with him for gymkhana in our yard. Rides bareback or in a saddle. He is the one in the saddle pics. He does crib without his cribbing collar. I keep him in it and he never even tries.
Jake is 20 years old. He is 16 hands. He is amazing to ride BUT only light rider and walk only. Beautiful and a puppy dog personality. I give Jake Equioxx in grain which makes him move so much better…after his first couple steps he walks out the stiffness and moves much better.
Both are in front shoes, up-to-date on everything…sheaths, teeth, vax, wormer, not underweight. They tie, bathe, load, clip.
I have vet paperwork on both from original owner from 2014 to April of 2021. I got them in May and have their paperwork for all calls I’ve done. I even did chiro on them for 3 months. Original owner couldn’t find paperwork prior to 2014. The original owner owned their dam…they’re half brothers.
On their back you can put a child who knows how to steer and say ho! They’re amazing. Fine with other horses BUT they become obsessed with the other horses- to the point that they get buddy sour. Dane has never colicced nor been lame. Jake has never colicced either but the vet has been called out for his lameness. These horses do not buck, bolt, rear…they’re like putty in your hand. I can collect them with a pinky when on their back as long as I’m riding together or riding one and the other is in his stall or round pen or tied and they can see each. They get very upset when one is left behind.
On the ground in the round pen a child can use voice commands to move them, switch ways, walk, trot, canter, ho …just awesome.
Leading them, because of their size they need an experienced handler because they try to out-walk you (they walk ahead of the person). They don’t pull back or try to run off, however.
They have their winter blankets and fly masks, bridles and halters.
I want them to go to a good home. They are safe if kept together. We rode them around our yard together, lead them around together, fine.
We are located in Murrieta, CA but I can trailer them to a new location if needed.
