Love and Thanks in the Time of Coronavirus

April 13, 2020 By ezarkos

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for helping to support the horses of Hanaeleh during this difficult time. First of all, yesterday we reached our fundraising goal- and in 12 days! There are so many people who donated, and we want to thank you SO very much. Thank you also to all of those people who help to sponsor the horses every month- we really depend upon your support to continue to provide the excellent care we are able to give to these wonderful animals. We have had to cancel both of our in-person fundraisers this year, and with the uncertain times in which we live, knowing that people are still supporting the horses really helps to reinforce our faith in the goodness of people.

We also want to thank all of our regular volunteers who come out and work SO HARD. Because of the virus, we are not accepting any new volunteers for the next few months, so a lot of the work has been placed upon our regular volunteers. They have stepped up and work so hard every single week- and with the rain, the work has been wet and mucky (read: heavy and gross).

Thank you again to everyone who helps keep Hanaeleh running, and who help us care for the horses! We could not do this work without all of you!

The volunteers (Catie, Misa, Molly) show off their masks while also practicing safe social distancing.

Glenda Gets a Brand-New Coop (Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers!)

August 28, 2025 By ezarkos

Glenda is one of the chickens at our ranch, and she had previously been living in a coop we built when we moved onto the property. The coop was sturdy enough to keep larger predators out, but unfortunately mice and rats were able to find their way inside. We did what we could to try to strengthen … [Read More...]
