Just a quick horsie update for this week! I’ll try to make them a regular event again!
I’m going to be putting some videos of the horses on YouTube, so look for those, too.
Charley- He is doing well! He is doing much better when coming out of his stall (not running people over anymore!) and his right front seems to be sound again. He looks awesome, too!
Rio- Very fuzzy and, as always, very cute.
Annie- She is doing great! She is fine with the bridle now and is pretty good with the saddle! She went on a ride down the street with me today- she does not care to cross water when someone is on her back, but she seems just fine when you’re on the ground- go figure.
Reno- He looks like a beatnick. We need to cut at least some of his hair off! Otherwise, he is pretty healthy in his retired state. 🙂
Ella- She is looking good, and is teaching Molly how to longe. Unfortunately, Ella is wearing out her front feet by weaving. We are going to speak to the farrier and see if she needs shoes to keep her feet from wearing out. It’s always something with Ella!
Raphael- He was feeling great and was good on the longe line, but got a small cut on his eye on Saturday. We doctored it up, but on Monday morning it was totally swollen and puss was coming out of it. The vet came that afternoon and made sure there was no scratch on the cornea or surrounding eyeball- luckily it looks like just an infection so we’re treating it. I’ve put some pictures on his blog- I know it still looks bad, but it actually looks better than it did, so it seems the antibiotics are working.
Baron- He is still kind of silly, but he’s starting to come around- he’s remembering that people have carrots and give nose rubs. 🙂
Sapphire- Beautiful as always. I rode her yesterday and she was a good girl. Hopefully we can find her a great home now!
Gypsy- Cute as a button! She was great on the longe line on Saturday and wore her little splint boots without a problem!
Nevada- He had a great time with Taryn on Saturday! He really enjoys the one-on-one time they spend together! He’s learning his manners in the arena, too, so he’s been getting much more attention!
Tamahome- The most handsomest horse ever, of course. We had a nice trail ride on Saturday and he was the best boy!
