Hanaeleh is Looking for a Permanent Home

December 28, 2021 By ezarkos

Lou Dillon and Quixote in the arena.

Hanaeleh moved into our currently facility in Trabuco Canyon 13 years ago. It is a lovely property: quiet and safe. We have spent a lot of time and money into improving the property, including putting in electrical wires for lights, running water pipes so every horse has an automatic waterer, putting up stalls and shelters, sheds, etc. Although we have a lot invested in the property, the owner is not interested in selling it, so purchasing it is not an option.

While we have enjoyed our time at our current facility, we are looking to find a permanent home in Orange County. We have two more years on our lease, so it is not as if the horses are in danger of being immediately homeless, but we would like to find a place that we can call our own, so we don’t have to worry about whether or not our lease will be renewed.

We are looking for either a house with approximately 2+ acres of land, or land that can be developed. We have a lead on a piece of undeveloped land, but that is not set in stone. Right now we are just putting our feelers out and seeing if anyone has a potential property that we can look at purchasing in Orange County or Riverside (we would like to remain in Orange County if possible, but if an amazing property turned up in Riverside, we would love to know about it!).  We understand that housing prices are pretty outrageous right now, but we feel that we at least have to start looking.

Do you know of anyone who has a place that might work for us? Please let us know: elizabeth@hanaeleh.org

We are hopeful that we will soon find a permanent place so we can continue to help the horses!
