Dulcinea

June 10, 2013 By ezarkos

We picked up Dallas on Saturday afternoon- we are calling her Dulcinea while she is at Hanaeleh as everyone thinks that Dallas is a boy’s name. Plus, Arabians believe that they are royalty, so we thought we would give her a princess’ name (from Man of La Mancha). She is a very good girl- leads very nicely and hopped right into the trailer! Yay!

Dulcinea is in better condition than we had originally thought- she just needs some TLC. Her back has some fungus where the winter coat hasn’t been able to be shed and her summer coat has grown in underneath. Her tail was so knotted that Tracy spent about 45 minutes on it, and still did not get it entirely undone. Still she got a nice oatmeal bath on Saturday and a full two-hour grooming session by Tracy. She seems to be so happy to have her grain and pellets!

We will be taking her up to her new home in Modesto on Sunday afternoon- we will update the blog with pictures of her new home, so be sure to check back next week!
