Devore Shelter, CA: 15 y/o Bay Mare Needs Home or Will Be Euthanized

September 27, 2013 By ezarkos

This mare only has until tomorrow until she will be euthanized… is there anyone who can help her?  More info from a shelter worker and contact info is below. Please contact the shelter directly!!

====================================================================================

Meet Miracle… she is an emaciated horse who has been held hostage at Devore since September 13th. I went through a learning experience with her… Devore’s policy is to put livestock up for bid. In Miracle’s case, she has been there since 9/13, emaciated, not allowed to go to rescue until today, as she was placed on a 7 day bid that ended today. She has until tomorrow to be rescued, as no one bid on her, or she will be put down.

This LIVESTOCK – ID#A573712
I am a female, bay and black Horse.
The shelter staff think I am about 15 years old.
I have been at the shelter since Sep 13, 2013.

For more information about this animal, call:
San Bernardino County – Devore Shelter at (909) 386-9820
Ask for information about animal ID number A573712
Please send to your network and horse loving friends… I know we don’t typically network horses, but I have a soft spot in my heart for these amazing animals and I can’t bear to see her put down tomorrow.

Medical care for horses is about 20 times as much for dogs and she is in need. savingshelterpets@yahoo.com will track pledges. If you can please share for pledges. I love horses and want to see her safe. I am starting the pledges at $50.

Thank you so much… financial assistance for an equine rescue is greatly needed to save her life tomorrow.

Additionally, if you know of any horse rescues with adequate medical funding, there is a miniature horse that just came in the 24th at Devore as well. He is limping on his front leg, therefore he likely either has thrush or a coffin bone issue (per a friend who knows much more about horses than I do). He is so stunning, and I have a really special place in my heart for mini horses. Sadly he will be put on a 10 day bidding auction starting the 30th, so there he sits, limping, until 10/9. Here is his link if you know anyone that can help him: http://petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=SBCO1.A574701
