Horseback Archery!

March 19, 2018 By ezarkos

Although I love spending time at Hanaeleh with the horses, sometimes things can get a little repetitive. The horses really seem to enjoy the structure, but I need more mental stimulation. Learning about different disciplines and meeting new people helps ensure that I am not getting into a proverbial rut with my training techniques, and it's always fun to learn new things and meet awesome horse people! A few weeks ago I was able to go down to Lakeside in San Diego County and visit the Sagittarri … [Read more...]

UPDATE: Tamahome

August 31, 2015 By ezarkos

Tamahome has had a difficult few weeks; he had been living with Sapphire, who was recently adopted, and so he now doesn't have a buddy to hang with.  He has been in a funk ever since, so we have been trying to help him rally his spirits by giving him extra attention and putting him out with Rio for some "buddy time." This past week I let Tamahome hang out with me while I did chores, which was great until he decided that chores were boring and he should find something else to do.  "Something … [Read more...]

Sapphire and Emily

We had a busy time out at the ranch this weekend- the horses all received their strangles vaccinations (we try not to give all of the vaccinations at once) so they are set until next year!  The horses kept sneezing and trying to wipe their noses on us so the vet, Sally W. and Elizabeth all received the strangles innoculation by proxy. Saturday was great- the horses all got out and were exercised.  They are looking quite dashing with their summer coats! … [Read more...]
