New Roof!

One of our metal sheds that houses our saddles has been leaking for the past few years.  We've been putting tarps over the saddles when it rains, but we were lucky enough to have a new roof put on the shed this weekend! Lori's family (father, husband, brother-in-law and nephew) came out on Saturday and built a new frame and a new roof. Mouse Rescue

Everyday brings with it new challenges, but today was more than interesting.  I went to feed the chickens today and found a mouse who was stuck in the coop- he got about halfway through the wires and then got stuck! Apparently we are feeding the mice as well as the rest of the animals (the cats and I are going to have a long talk, by the way). A very happy new year to all of those individuals who help to support Hanaeleh and the horses.  Over the holiday, I was listening to the song My Dear Acquaintance by Regina Spektor, and was struck by the line, "Happy new year to all that is living."
