Welcome Our Newest Rescues: Jesse and Rylee!

January 11, 2023 By ezarkos

It's been an exciting few weeks at Hanaeleh, as we have one of our horses return, and a new herdmate to welcome at the rescue! Jesse Jesse is a 20 year-old Quarter horse gelding. Jesse is what we call a boomerang horse- he keeps coming back! He has come back now three times- and never though any fault of his own. Jesse's owner was having financial difficulties and also was concerned that Jesse was not doing well at his new stable. Jesse is why we always have a first right-of-refusal on all of … [Read more...]

Interview with the Animal Rescue Site

January 4, 2023 By ezarkos

The Animal Rescue Site contacted us this month and asked if we could share the work we do at Hanaeleh, and asked if we would like to feature one of our horses. Of course, Elizabeth said yes! During the interview, Elizabeth was asked what horse was the epitome of our rescues, and whose rescue stood out. Ulysses' rescue and rehabilitation immediately came to mind, because his story really shows what rescue is- it is not flipping horses and only focusing on those horses who can be adopted out; … [Read more...]

December 29, 2022 By ezarkos

We are so pleased that we have raised almost 3/4 of the total needed to rescue the two horses at auction in just two days! We have been able to pay for the bail for these two horses, and have contacted the hauler to get these two to their new home in Arizona. We have also arranged for a health certificate and Coggins, which the feedlot will help with. The horses no longer go by their lot number, but have been named Whiskey and Bella, and will go to their new home next week! Thank you to all … [Read more...]
