Last week we posted about Marty, a 25 y/o Quarter horse gelding who was dumped in an almond grove (you can see his post here). He was starving, and ate almonds to stay alive before a kind woman saw him and rescued him. UPDATE: SAFE! Orange County, CA: Two Kitties Need Homes ASAP
UPDATE February 12, 2022: Two of Hanaeleh's board members are fostering the kitties and making sure that they are getting the veterinary care they need. Keene, CA: 25 y/o Quarter Horse Gelding Needs Home!
Marty was abandoned in the orange groves in Bakersfield. He was covered in mud and hadn't been fed well, but was eating almonds to survive. A wonderful woman was able to save him from starving, but she is unable to keep him. Please note: Marty is NOT at Hanaeleh- he is in Keene, CA (near Bakersfield). The vet has determined that Marty is in his mid-twenties. He is most likely a Quarter horse. UPDATE 2022: Hope and Grace
Hope and Grace are two bonded Arabian mares who came to Hanaeleh when their owner could no longer care for them. The were underweight and clearly in need of some love. After we get them back into better health, Hope and Grace were adopted out for a short time as therapy horses, but the facility where they were living burned down during the Malibu Fire in 2018.
