Special Horsie Update

August 22, 2011 By Hanaeleh

For your reading pleasure, you get two horsie updates this week!  This update is special because it features a very deserving horse. This poor guy was left, starving and covered in flies, by animal control.  Instead of seizing him, they called us to try to find him a home.  We had several people who offered to help, but they were several hundreds of miles away- in different states!  We were very fortunate to have a very wonderful group of individuals in our own neighborhood, Trabuco Canyon, … [Read more...]

Horsie Update 8/15/11

August 16, 2011 By Hanaeleh

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  We had a great time wishing Molly farewell this Saturday- we wish her the best of luck in college in Montana (and we will definitely call her up in December when it's about 72 degrees and ask her about the wind chill factor there). We also had a great crew helping to clean up the trail by our facility!  Who knew there were so many prickly things growing in California? I will send out a short update of the volunteer meeting minutes for those who … [Read more...]

There is an old e-mail circulating around about 52 Thoroughbreds who were in danger of going to slaughter.  The e-mail was true, but these horses were all saved in January, 2011. For some reason, this e-mail was picked up again about 2 weeks ago and the rescue community has been trying to squash it, but we are highly effective communicators and have a very extensive network, I have discovered.  Today the e-mail was posted on Craigslist in North Carolina and was on two other rescue sites, and … [Read more...]
