Update: SJC, CA: Dallas- Arabian mare who needs home

June 1, 2013 By ezarkos

Just a quick update on Dallas- I believe we have found a very good home for her!  She will be at a private residence, and the owner has Arabians and knows how to help supplement their feed, so Dallas should gain her weight back quite quickly! The only issue we have now is in transport- we need to get Dallas from San Juan Capistrano to Modesto, CA.  We can potentially take her up, but if anyone would like to help sponsor her transport, that would be helpful. :) A huge thank you to everyone … [Read more...]

Girl Scout Visit

Carrots!

This past weekend we had a very lively troop of Brownie scouts come out to the barn to help!  They painted cavaletti, ensuing in a maelstrom of pink and red and white not only on the cavaletti, but also on the children! In addition to coming out and helping and feeding the horses, the troop also donated two bales of alfalfa hay, two bags of carrots and two bags of apples to the horses!  The horses enjoyed their treats very much- they still have an entire bag of apples left to eat! A big … [Read more...]

Lucerne Valley, CA: Missouri Fox Trotter Needs Home

May 31, 2013 By ezarkos

The owner rescued this mare from potential slaughter in January and has been doing ground work and ground driving with her. She had about three weeks with a professional trainer. She is about 15 hands, and is around 15-17 y/o.  The owner says that she needs an experienced rider as she has probably had some abuse in her past. She is up-to-date on all of her shots, worming and teeth.  She is sound and broke to ride. The owner has more pictures and some videos. The owner is trying to find a … [Read more...]

Savannah Update!

Mike and Savannah

This weekend we went out to see how Savannah is doing- exceptionally well as it turns out! Mike has been meticulous in his care of Savannah, and we don't know when she has looked this good! She seemed happy and content in her new home, and Mike said that he was having the "time of his life" caring for Savannah.  What a wonderful pair! :) … [Read more...]
