ASPCA-end-horse-slaughter

Breaking news: 2014 is indeed the Year of the Horse! The U.S. Congress just released the brand new funding bill for FY2014 – a massive bill involving more than a trillion tax dollars – and we are thrilled to announce that horse slaughter will not be coming back to United States soil. The ASPCA worked day and night to ensure that tax dollars would not be spent on inspections that enable the slaughter of horses for human consumption. January 9, 2014 By ezarkos

Some of you may remember Lexie, the 14 y/o Quarter horse mare who we rescued in December: http://www.hanaeleh.org/orange-county-ca-qh-mare-needs-home-asap/ Her new owner was hoping to use Lexie in her lesson program, but her vet does not think that Lexie would be able to stay sound enough. We're looking first to see if there are any used pipes that are available.  We can transport the 12 ft. pipes, but with the 24 ft. pipes we would need to rent a truck, unless transport was available. We're also looking to purchase … [Read more...]
